Meet Prayon, Polytek client and household name in the global industry of phosphorus chemistry. For an ambitious engineering project with epic proportions, Prayon sought Polytek’s creative problem-solving skills, technological know-how, and cooperative approach. Here’s what we did together.
A Prayon product isn’t a finished product—it’s phosphoric acid. This liquid raw material requires not only specific handling and storage, but also regular, safe, and efficient transportation to other firms and industries for further processing. This new project aimed to streamline this transportation flow.
While that sounds relatively simple — after all, streamlining industrial processes is what we do — it wasn't quite so straightforward. As it turned out, this project called for the connection to an existing storage tank of 5000 cubic metres, along with a comprehensive piping system connecting it to the loading station.
Following our usual method of meticulous preparation, we started off by making detailed 3D scans of the entire project site, including current infrastructure as well as the exact trajectory of future pipework, allowing for accurate measurements and planning. Using these scans, we then created a comprehensive 3D model that encompassed all components, including equipment, piping, steel structures, and civil foundations. After that, we went into even more detail.
With 3D simulations, we carefully analysed the movements of transportation trucks, the space they require to manoeuvre and turn, and the interactions between the trucks and the infrastructure, all to ensure a smooth and seamless flow. This helped us identify potential bottlenecks or issues before construction started, saving precious time and budget in the long run. Also, this serves as a great example of how our 3D technology and expertise can be applied to specific challenges across different projects and industries.
With the transportation route fully mapped out and the design finalised, there are no more unknowns for both Prayon and the construction contractor. A better, more streamlined transportation system is within reach for Prayon, and we'll be there every step of the way.
We work closely with clients from the very beginning. That way, we know exactly what you need, you feel heard and supported, and we can use our collective skills to solve the puzzle. This is a team effort, and a strong start is half the battle.
By focusing on digital processes, we minimise waste, optimise resources, and reduce the ecological footprint of industrial projects. Also, we design for longevity. By making sure everything is well-made and well-maintained, we reduce the need for renovations or replacements.
Industrial projects are complex and rely on many variables. Challenges and questions are bound to arise. Our project managers are here to guide you through it all, with expert advice, troubleshooting, and, if necessary, just a bit of tough love.
Not your machinery or hardware (although we help with that, too), but the different elements and stakeholders involved in your construction project. We always take a bird’s-eye view, so all moving parts are in sync.
