A major greenfield project, involving the design of a new plant from scratch, presented our pharma client with various challenges. Polytek was initially asked to assist with the clean piping design for the new plant, which included creating a 3D model of the entire facility. An accurate, detailed 3D blueprint was essential to keeping a bird's eye view. After all, designing a complex pharmaceutical manufacturing facility is no easy task.
The area around the transfer panels, in particular, turned out to be relatively crowded, with limited space and several pipes and valves. While a 3D model is great for visualising a layout and design, it can be challenging to assess the physical constraints and potential issues that may arise in a tight space. Of course, we were more than eager to help our client get a better, more realistic understanding of how this area would look and feel. Enter virtual reality.
Building a new plant from the ground up involves making a lot of decisions, big and small. With virtual reality technology, this pharma giant was able to make more informed decisions about the layout and design of their new facility's transfer panels. And what’s more? Rather than engineers, architects, or managers identifying potential bottlenecks or design flaws, it was our client’s maintenance personnel and operators. This level of involvement and input from the end-users helped ensure that the final design was practical, efficient, and optimised for their specific needs.
As for us, we are thrilled to offer a client of this calibre a cutting-edge solution like virtual reality. By using new technologies and improving old processes, we can prepare our clients to take on tomorrow's challenges.
We work closely with clients from the very beginning. That way, we know exactly what you need, you feel heard and supported, and we can use our collective skills to solve the puzzle. This is a team effort, and a strong start is half the battle.
By focusing on digital processes, we minimise waste, optimise resources, and reduce the ecological footprint of industrial projects. Also, we design for longevity. By making sure everything is well-made and well-maintained, we reduce the need for renovations or replacements.
Industrial projects are complex and rely on many variables. Challenges and questions are bound to arise. Our project managers are here to guide you through it all, with expert advice, troubleshooting, and, if necessary, just a bit of tough love.
Not your machinery or hardware (although we help with that, too), but the different elements and stakeholders involved in your construction project. We always take a bird’s-eye view, so all moving parts are in sync.
