Polytek client MEAM — specializing in microwave technology for industrial applications — has recently joined forces with C-Ground. The question at hand: is it possible to evaporate solvents using MEAM’s microwave technology, instead of the environmentally harmful thermal oil method?
Using electricity, air flows, water, and maximum heat recovery, MEAM can heat and dry products with no emissions or fossil fuels. This made them the perfect partner for supplying the microwave equipment and technology required for this project. But setting up a brand-new process requires more than just installing the necessary machinery. Specifying peripheral equipment, managing logistics, coordinating suppliers—all those tasks, and many more, are crucial for obtaining a smooth process. MEAM needed a strong collaborator with multidisciplinary skills, from project management to civil engineering. So that’s where we came in.
The first step was to set up a clear framework. How can we turn this potentially impactful solution into a reality? How do we make the most of both MEAM’s and Polytek’s strengths? And, at the end of the ride, how much will it all cost?
Using 3D and BIM technology, we developed a 3D model of the plant and devised an efficient layout for all the necessary equipment, as well as an estimation of all the costs. Because if you fail to plan, you're planning to fail.
All of this set the stage for MEAM to conduct pilot tests, which are currently on-going. Once the necessary permits are secured and all tests are completed, the construction phase will begin. Polytek will be there to take care of everything, to completion and beyond.
Innovation is at the heart of what we do. Finding better, more sustainable solutions to existing processes has always been our driving force. And so, it is an honour to collaborate with MEAM and C-Ground on new, impactful solutions that benefit us all.
We work closely with clients from the very beginning. That way, we know exactly what you need, you feel heard and supported, and we can use our collective skills to solve the puzzle. This is a team effort, and a strong start is half the battle.
By focusing on digital processes, we minimise waste, optimise resources, and reduce the ecological footprint of industrial projects. Also, we design for longevity. By making sure everything is well-made and well-maintained, we reduce the need for renovations or replacements.
Industrial projects are complex and rely on many variables. Challenges and questions are bound to arise. Our project managers are here to guide you through it all, with expert advice, troubleshooting, and, if necessary, just a bit of tough love.
Not your machinery or hardware (although we help with that, too), but the different elements and stakeholders involved in your construction project. We always take a bird’s-eye view, so all moving parts are in sync.
